From Tornado to Windstorm to Ice Storm

We had a Tornado on Feb. 5, 2008. We had a Wind Storm off of Hurricane Ike in September 2008. On January 26, 2009 we had an Ice Storm that knocked power out to the entire county and several surrounding counties in Kentucky. There are still over 70,000 thousand people in the state that are with out power. This is a week later and temps are dropping steadily from the weekend.

We didn't have in severe damage at our place. We were the main station for heat and food. I have a gas cook stove so we heated and cooked for close friends and family. We bedded to other couples until they got generators. Then they went home. One received power back on Sunday and the other is still without. I am still feeding the ones without power. We received our power back at about 2:00 A.M. SATURDAY MORNING!! Hot showers have been awarded to all that have been in and out at my house. My parents are without electricity, but have a generator. They've been eating with us and showering. We are also the Laudry Mat for both sets of parents. Friends didn't want to burden us with their laundry, but if no power soon they will have too I am sure.

Me and Chris really hadn't made much progress on the remolding, but he had to move serveral things over the past week to accomadate so we will have a good start when all is said and done. I am rather excited. I am going home to start moving things around and out this evening after supper is over. That is if I feel up to it. I think I have an ear infection starting. I have some severe pain from time to time. Probably get to see a doctor soon.

Cody didn't do as well on his report card as I had wished for, but it was still a decent report. He got 2 b's and the rest a's. He brought all up, but 2. He has let some grades drop for this 9 weeks that has gotten him into some trouble with his dad and myself. We are hoping for all a's this nine weeks, but he is going to have to work his little tush hard. He will be going to school until the second week of June I think. Not much of a summer for these kids because they start the first of August.

Cody is very close to the end of Elementary school. Preteen he is becoming. He has 13 weeks left of 4th grade and 36 weeks of 5th before he enters junior high.

Love to all
